Saturday, May 9, 2009

Jim Little Photography is proud to announce the opening of our NEW studio gallery in Homewood! We really enjoyed meeting our brides this past year inside Engaged, but we had been looking for a larger area to show off our gallery art collection and wow what space we have now! The new studio location is 4 times as big as our previous location, with sleek contemporary décor, double the amount of track lighting to highlight the gallery photos, a surround sound audio system, and much more room to display the beautiful Image Art album collections. We even have room now for a comfy sofa to relax and view Jim’s amazing DVD slide shows with music – custom created by Jim for every wedding. (No, Jim, it’s not for your naps J ) We continue to be blessed with new opportunities for our business to grow.

Our new location is the perfect spot and centrally located in Homewood. 2809 Crescent Avenue, Homewood, 35209. Call us to schedule an appointment at our new location! 2010 weddings are booking fast. There are only a few May and June dates left – give us a call today!

Creative ways to share your photos.

Think outside the box to find creative ways to share your photos and have a keepsake for many years to come.

Beyond the basic wedding album, see the ideas below that will make your photos memories live longer. Call Jim Little Photography to help you preserve your special memories.

Enlarge a Special Detail

A slice of the wedding that’s blown up to larger-than-life-size can dress up a wall like a piece of art. (Depending on the photo quality, try 11″ x 14″ or larger.) What to choose: a portrait of your bouquet, candles on a table, your bridal shoes. Black-and-white is especially effective. Take the print to a pro to be matted and framed (white and black are always safe bets). Hang in a niche or over a bureau.

Publish the Story of You

Imagine your wedding as a coffee-table book. Design teams at custom publishers will lay out your shots and vary the pacing (pages of the wedding party followed by a spread of the wedding site), then bind them into a sleek hardcover book. If your photographer doesn’t offer the service, contact a manufacturer like GraphiStudio.

Create Some Shelf Life

Photo display ledges and rails, available at stores like Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel and from companies like Exposures, let you create a mini gallery. For a unified look, select all black-and-white prints, or use identical frames to give any group visual cohesion. Don’t limit yourself to wedding photos; shots from your honeymoon lend interest. A framed invitation adds charm. Perfect display spots: a hallway, family room, or powder room.

Jim Little Photography – Featured in Southern Bride Magazine!

Saturday, March 28, 2009

Pick up a copy of the Southern Bride Magazine, Winter 2009 issue. Jim Little Photography is featured several times throughout the magazine. The Wedding Theme section features Jim’s beautiful photography highlighting a Cinco De Mayo theme. The photo shoot showcases some of the more traditional aspects of a Mexican wedding, with Aztec designs, mantilla lace, Moroccans, gold coins, and bright colors above earth tones. B&A Warehouse was a perfect venue location lending architectural integrity to the rustic old-world feel. To appeal to today’s bride, the antique look was complimented with modern dresses, creative and fun food stations, and signature martinis. This look honors the past while celebrating the present and the future. Article credit: Alabama Southern Bride Magazine.

In the Real Wedding article, the wedding of Angela & Lee is also featured. Angela & Lee were married April 26, 2008. The wedding was at Angela’s home church, Riverchase Church of Christ with a reception to follow at Ross Bridge. Angela remembers one of her favorite moments was seeing her husband for the first time. They had an arranged meeting by Jim Little, her photographer, before the wedding to take pictures. Angela says, “When I rounded the corner and saw him in his tux, standing there waiting to see me in my dress, I started to laugh and cry all at the same time. To this day, it’s the only time I have seen him cry”. Read more about Angela’s special wedding day on pages 72-74 of Southern Bride Magazine.
